1 - How to Get to Thales Alenia Space Gymnasium

BY TRAIN:

  • The main train station in Cannes is Gare de Cannes, served by TGV and regional trains (TER). From the station, take bus line 11, 14, or 22 towards Cannes La Bocca and get off at the "Gabians" stop, which is a 2-minute walk from the Thales sports complex.
  • Alternatively, you can take a train to Gare de La Bocca and walk or take a short bus ride to the site.
  • BY PLANE:

    The nearest major international airport is Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE), located about 30 km from Cannes.

    Nice – Cannes airport connections :

    • BUS SHUTTLE: To and from Nice Airport, the shuttle bus (line 81) runs from the airport (Terminal 2) every 30mn. The trip by the motorway takes 45mn and drops you to Cannes downtown next to the train station. Bus 81 :Nice-Cannes line: t-zoukeolis.fr receive your ticket by SMS and present it to the driver.
    • TRAIN: The new train station « St Augustin » is now located opposite Terminal 1. To and from Nice Airport the SNCF TER trains run every 15/20mn and takes you to Cannes downtown in 25 to 30mn. Tickets can be taken on line https://www.ter.sncf.com/sud-provence-alpes-cote-d-azur or to the automatic machines at the train station.From Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, the tramway takes you for free to the St Augustin station (walking is 10mn from terminal 1)
    • TAXIS AND PRIVATE SERVICES: Taxis stations are located in each Terminals and taxis take you to Cannes by the motorway. Some private services (VTC, Min vans, Mini bus, coaches) can also be organised with our partner to take you or your clients to Cannes. Please contact us for more informations and contacts

    BY BUS:

    • From Cannes city center, take bus lines 11, 14, or 22 and get off at the "Allée des Cormorans" stop.
    • From Nice, take bus line 200 or 210 to Cannes, then transfer to a local bus (11, 14, or 22) to reach the site.

    BY CAR:

    • From France (Nice/Marseille):
      Take the A8 motorway (La Provençale). Exit at "Cannes La Bocca" (exit 41) and follow signs for Cannes La Bocca / Thales Alenia Space. The Thales sports complex is located Boulevard du Midi and Allée des Gabians at the end of Allée des Mouettes.

    • From Italy (Genoa/Turin/Milan):
      Take the A10 motorway (Autostrada dei Fiori) towards Ventimiglia (France). Cross the border and continue on the A8 motorway towards Nice/Cannes. Exit at "Cannes La Bocca" (exit 41) and follow signs for Cannes La Bocca / Thales Alenia Space.

    2 - Getting around Cannes

    PUBLIC TRANSPORT (BUS):

    • Bus lines 11, 14, and 22 are the most useful for reaching Thales Alenia Space from the city center or train stations.
    • Line 1 (Palm Bus) connects the city center to the western areas, including La Bocca.
    • Line 200 (Lignes d’Azur) connects Nice to Cannes (about 1h15) and stops near the train station.
    • Line 210 is a direct bus from Nice Airport to Cannes (about 1h).
    • Night buses (N20) operate on weekends and public holidays.

    • Tickets can be purchased at bus stops, tobacco shops, or via the Lignes d’Azur app.

    TRAIN (TER):

    • Gare de Cannes is the main train station, with frequent regional trains (TER) to Nice, Antibes, and Monaco..
    • Gare de La Bocca is closer to Thales Alenia Space and is served by local trains (C3, C13).
    • Tickets can be bought at the station or via the SNCF Connect app.

    BICYCLE:

    • Cannes offers a bike-sharing system called VéloCannes, with stations across the city.
    • You can rent a bike for short trips or leisurely rides along the seafront.

    TAXI & RIDE-SHARING:

    • Taxis are available at the train station, bus stops, and throughout the city.
    • Ride-sharing apps like Uber and Bolt are also active in Cannes.

    WALKING:

    • The city center, La Croisette, and the old town (Le Suquet) are best explored on foot.
    • Thales Alenia Space is about 40 minutes on foot from the city center (along Boulevard du Midi).

    CAR & SCOOTER RENTAL:

    • Several car rental agencies (Avis, Hertz, Europcar) are available at Nice Airport and in Cannes.
    • Electric scooters (Lime, Bird) are available for short trips around the city.

    PARKING:

    • Free parking is available near Thales Alenia Space (e.g., Parking La Bocca).
    • Street parking is limited and often requires payment via parking meters.
